To provide the user with a general idea of areas where final critical habitat for Colorado pikeminnow (Ptychocheilus lucius) occur based on the description provided in the Federal Register. The geographic extent includes San Juan County, New Mexico ; San Juan, Garfield, Wayne, Emery, Grand, Carbon and Uintah Counties, Utah ; and Moffat, Rio Blanco, Garfield, Mesa and Delta Counties, Colorado.
Critical habitat are areas considered essential for the conservation of a listed species. These areas provide notice to the public and land managers the importance of these areas to the conservation of this species. Special protections and/or restrictions are possible in areas where federal funding, permits, licenses, authorizations, or actions occur or are required.

Polyline and polygon item values were checked by the analyst against the source material for omissions and correctness.
A formal accuracy assessment of the vertical positional information in the data set has either not been conducted, or is not applicable.
Digitized polygons based on Federal Register descriptions using digital USGS 7.5 minute quads and TIGER 2000 data as a base. Polygons were then reviewed by FWS field staff.
